Yalda Yazdani ist eine iranische Ethnomusikologin, Filmemacherin und Kuratorin und arbeitet derzeit als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität Siegen. Von 2017 bis 2023 gründete und kuratierte sie die Festivals Female Voice of Iran, Female Voice of Afghanistan und Female Voice of Kurdistan in Zusammenarbeit mit der Contemporary Opera Berlin. Im Jahr 2024 organisierte sie die Veranstaltungsreihe Qashqai Female Voices in Kooperation mit dem Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum in Köln sowie Ukrainian Female Voices im Dezember 2024 in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ukrainian Institute in Kiew und Berlin, in Partnerschaft mit transmusicale e.V. Seit 2023 ist sie zudem künstlerische Leiterin des Inner Unity Ensemble in Zusammenarbeit mit der Duisburger Philharmonie.
Kimia Bani ist eine professionelle iranische Perkussionistin und Community-Musikerin mit über 20 Jahren Erfahrung. Ihre internationale Karriere führte sie zu Kooperationen mit Musiker:innen auf der ganzen Welt, wobei sie östliche und westliche Musiktraditionen miteinander verbindet und sich aktiv in politischen, feministischen und geschlechterdiversen Bands engagiert. Ihr Weg ist ein Beweis für die Kraft der Kunst, Grenzen zu überwinden und durch die universelle Sprache der Musik Einheit zu schaffen. (Foto: Ellen Schmauss)

Yalda Yazdani is an Iranian ethnomusicologist, filmmaker, and curator, currently working as a research associate at the University of Siegen. From 2017 to 2023, she founded and curated the festivals Female Voice of Iran, Female Voice of Afghanistan, and Female Voice of Kurdistan in collaboration with Contemporary Opera Berlin. In 2024, she organized the event series Qashqai Female Voices in cooperation with the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum in Cologne, as well as Ukrainian Female Voices in December 2024 in collaboration with the Ukrainian Institute in Kyiv and Berlin, in partnership with transmusicale e.V. Since 2023, she has also been the artistic director of the Inner Unity Ensemble in collaboration with the Duisburg Philharmonic.
Kimia Bani is a professional Iranian percussionist and community musician with over 20 years of experience. Her global career has seen her collaborate with musicians worldwide, bridging Eastern and Western musical traditions while actively engaging with political, feminist, and gender minority bands.
